Nature Poetry by Cathi Pelletier
Welcome to the Nature Poetry section of Wing Watchers.net. Below are four poems that our sister, Cathi, had written for the site just before her passing in 2005. Let your imagination run wild with the laughter of faeries, calling Loons, and skeins of geese. I will always keep the poems close to me, so please enjoy them. The "house" symbol to the left is your button for the Homepage.
Spread Your Wings |
Spread your wings Breathe in courage Breathe out fear Spread your wings Fly! Sunlight in azure skies Cloudless Weightless Spread your wings Breathe in courage Breathe out fear Spread your wings Fly! Storm clouds looming high Flashing Booming Spread your wings Fly! |

Acadian Mist |
Silvery
mist swirls. The scent of sea-roses sings To the warbler's heart. Old-man's-beard drips rain From the gnarled, sea-blasted spruce. The wild loon laughs. The jade sea crashes Against stern and blood-red cliffs. The Peregrine stoops. Out of the mist dives The Falcon, in a death-dance With the swallow. Silvery mist swirls Around stern and bloody cliffs. The wild loon laughs. |
In The Faerie's Garden |
[Dedicated to Judy & Dave who created the garden] |
In a beautiful garden green There sits a little faery queen She sits upon a lily pad And sings a song that's very glad A song of butterflies and birds A lovely tune without any words She sees us all with faery eyes We see her in her faerie guise What's sitting on the rock over there? Is it a lovely faery fair? To us it seems a warty frog That should be living in a bog But faeries hide right in plain sight And only seem themselves at night So watch for faeries in the sun They might be froggies having fun. |

Bosque Dawn |
The
waking sun warms my back. It glows golden on stands of winter grass. The Black Mountains loom in the distance. Long skeins of snow geese flutter in the wind, like white satin ribbons. The gutteral calls of cranes rise from where they stand, Gray sentinels in the dawn, calling the watch. The timeless beauty warms my soul. Its peace glows golden in my heart. The ducks are all asleep. |
